Description

Flags have always had the power to stir the imagination, unite - and divide - people. Learning about flags opens a window through which we can view other nations and cultures with more understanding. In Flags of the World, we cover the history of flags, how flags are used, colour, design and international organisations and their flags. The flags of countries around the world are included broken into the following regions: North America, Central America and the Caribbean; South America; Europe; Africa; Western and Southern Asia; Eastern and Southeast Asia; and Australia, New Zealand and Oceania.

Author description

Julie Ellis has been both a librarian and a school teacher and she is the author of many books for children. She enjoys writing both fiction and nonfiction. Julie lives in New Zealand. When not writing she spends her time biking and tramping with friends, or watching her three children play sport. Julie Ellis is also the author of New Holland's Young Reed Currency.
